Screenwriting and Directing

Initially as a hobby, Jordan Lane Gilmore performed on the stage and for some local television during high school and university. Shortly thereafter he began dabbling in screenwriting. Only in recent years, and with the help of recent partners has he been fortunate enough to produce content and develop short film and visual narratives that he is very passionate about. Storytelling has been core to what he does naturally, and the simple combo of photography and music is the preferred medium.

Much of Jordan Lane Gilmore's work in production historically has been focused on documentary oriented film that highlights global environmental and energy issues. Talent Management: Modeling & Photography

In additional to designers, Prodigal helps manage and represent a select number of photographers and multi-media talent. We are most interested to maintain a strong infrastructure of support around new artists, particularly when they are in new and foreign cities. For models, Prodigal recommends the work of Models Trust when navigating new geos and markets.

Film Forum: the Prodigal Studio Journal

The Prodigal Studio Journal is a recent project launch focused on films of personal interest and overlap with the studio's work. Whether it be media theory, techniques of exceptionally talented directors & actors, or even new technology developments in the industry, Prodigal hopes to engage people in a forum about culturally significant and profoundly meaningful, often spiritual, content in film.

Digital (Promotional) Shorts

Music videos are a favourite Prodigal Studios tool in delivering complex narratives. The combination of two mediums proves useful for such rich content. And the condensed content, such as this, cut down to the 15 sec Instagram post limitation demonstrated just how much of a narrative could be delivered in so little time.

This is a reflection of consumption habits and parallels the rhythm and duration of film production for television advertising. At Prodigal, we understand that something as short as 15 seconds, even 6 seconds (RIP Viners) can be an high quality medium of media messaging. In this particularly case, highlights from a music video were used to drive people to click through the whole video itself. It is a teaser.

Short films

Prodigal often works with non-profit organizations to development visual narratives that speak directly to their audience.  Priority is given to environmental issues and faith based groups.

This short was originally created for Aletheia Church Boston's sermon series on the book of John, "That You May Believe". Jordan Lane Gilmore was the Director and partners with Matt Lowe, the Director of Photography, on similar projects.

Prodigal

The Prodigal Studio is a network of independent freelancers that come together to provide services of creative agency. This ranges from the production of short films to digital design works, such as branding assets. The Prodigal Studio is also developing a forum for critiques and observations of works in the public space, such as music videos and short films. More of these discussions, hosted by Jordan can be found here.
