Jordan Lane Gilmore has been active in wetlands and water management issues around New Orleans and the Mississippi Delta since 2002 when he volunteered on an issue campaign that would ultimately become the America's Wetland Foundation.
After Hurricane Katrina, he was positioned as a congressional liaison to the Levee Board(s), other public officials and the US Corps of Engineers developing extreme weather event restoration and prevention strategy.
Most recently, he has counseled US House Study Committee leadership on the WRRDA bill (2014) and promotes the analysis and planning conducted in the Urban Water Plan.

As part of his Harvard graduate research on water technology development, Jordan Lane Gilmore was awarded a grant by the Harvard Asia Center to conduct tech sector analysis and socio-political analysis of factors advancing water planning systems in Singapore.
This study is leveraged toward advisory services provided to the R&D efforts of other urban wetland areas, particularly those facing the risk of subsidence and sea level rise.

Jordan Lane Gilmore's contribution involved the development of a policy and political landscape informing the narrative you see in Nat Geo coverage (above) and advocacy efforts Alexandra would later take on. He also provided and coordinated the network of stakeholders, locations and logistic resources used for the tour through the Mississippi Delta.
